On 23 June 2018, it is the 1st dead Anniversary of Most Ven. Dr. PHRAKRUADULSARASIT (June 18, 2017) and celebrated at the International Buddhist Propagation Center of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Khon Kaen Campus, Wat Nantikaram, Nai Mueang sub-district, Mueang Khon Kaen district, Khon Kaen province.
On this ceremony, Most Ven. Phra Sophonphatthanapundit, Assoc. Prof. Dr., Abbot of Wat Nantikaram Temple, the deputy monk governor of khan Kaen province, the vice-rector of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Khon Kaen Campus and the president of IBPC.MCUKK with lay people, his followers, students and monks celebrated the 1st died anniversary ceremony by doing chanting, practicing meditation, offering food to the monk in order to dedicate the goodness and merits for Him.
At that time, Most Ven. Phra Sophonphatthanapundit, lay people and his students presented at Wat Nantikaram Hall, chanted the ritual for paying homage to triple Gem, listened to the sermon by Most Ven. Phra Rajprasithikun, Monk deputy governor of Khon Kaen and ten monks chanted recite Paritta Sutta and then lay people offered the lunch for monk and novices. At the end of ceremony lay people joint lunch together. This ceremony ended with wholesome and merit for participants and especially for Most Ven. Dr. PHRAKRUADULSARASIT.
Short Background of Most Ven. Dr. PHRAKRUADULSARASIT
*Most Ven. Dr. PHRAKRUADULSARASIT, Buddhist name: Chanathasutho, 81, Buddhist age:
59 years. He was born on July 7, 1937 and died on 18 June, 2017 at the age of 81 years old at
Wat Nantikaram, Nai Mueang sub-district, Mueang Khon Kaen district, Khon Kaen province,
Thailand. He became a monk on June 10, 1957 (at the age of 20 years old) at Wat Saket, Soun Noi sub-district, Mancha Khiri District Khon Kaen province, Thailand.
He was the ex-abbot of Wat Nantikaram and the director of IBPC.MCUKK. He was a master of Dhamma-Vinaya at Wat Nantikaram and lecture on the topic of Abhidhamma pitaka for Bachelor, master and doctorate degree at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Khon Kaen Campus.
Most Ven. Dr. PHRAKRUADULSARASIT spent his lifetime for 59 years old in monkshood. He also helped, taught and leaded Buddhist Thai Buddhist People to practice meditation. He spread Buddhism to neighboring countries, also Bangladesh and Laos. Otherwise he allowed many foreign monks (Bangladesh, Cambodian, Indian and Loa monks) to stay in his temple for their study in Buddhist university in Khon Kaen province.
Note: Most Ven. Dr. PHRAKRUADULSARASIT was ex-abbot of Wat Nantikaram Temple, also lecturer of MCU.KK and was president of IBPC.MCUKK. He was well-known monk in teaching of Meditation and Abhidhamma subject for monks and lay people in North-Eastern region of Thailand. He got Honorary Ph.D., meditation Departments from Sri Langka.
